Fr. Tom O’Mahony was a conservative priest from Ireland who loved the people and the weather in the great southwest. He was stationed for a while in Las Cruses, New Mexico where he built the Cathedral and was later assigned to El Paso where he built Most Holy Trinity Church and school. He worked very hard to keep the school affordable for all children.
A brilliant theologian he was sought after by parishioners some of which would drive across town to hear his conservative sermons absent guitar music and the frequent peace offering amongst the parishioners at most churches. He brought many to a stronger understanding of Catholicism through his writings on apologetics.
For years he Included the Sacred Readings in the weekly church bulletins. He then wrote his reflections of the Readings which greatly help the reader comprehend the significance to life today.
He was widely sought after by Catholic magazines both in the United States and in Europe.
